Xiaomi’s Mi 6X (Mi A2) has leaked yet again, with the latest specs and images appearing in the database of China’s telecom regulator TENAA. This time around, the leak contains device renders in a red coloration from the front, back, and sides, as well as some of its specifications. As is always the case with leaks, these should be viewed with some skepticism since these types of listings rarely tell the whole story and a render isn’t always perfectly representative of the final design. With that said, the images appear to match up rather nicely with earlier purported depictions of the Mi 6X’s back panel, so the specifications seen earlier may have a bit more weight to them.
With regard to the overall design of the device, the Mi 6X as shown in the leaked images features a dual-camera array on the top left-hand side of the handset. In between the two sensors is a single LED flash, while a fingerprint scanner resides in a position that’s down and to the right. That is, of course, when viewing the device from the back. Around the front of the device is a single selfie snapper, positioned to the left of the earpiece and above what is expected to be an FHD+ display set at a ratio of 18:9. The screen also appears to go nearly from edge to edge with a bare minimum of bezels. According to the accompanying specs, that’s set to be a 5.99-inch display. On the right-hand side, there are volume rockers and a power button. The listed dual-SIM slot is on the left-hand edge. That’s embedded in a comparatively slim frame that’s said to measure 158.88 x 75.54 x 7.3mm, wrapped around the internal hardware and a 2,910mAh battery which is presumed to be non-removable.
With regard to other expected specifications for the mid-range Xiaomi Mi 6X, according to previous leaks, this will feature a Surge S2 SoC. That is rumored to be backed up by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Less certain, though all of this is mostly speculative at this point, some rumors have suggested this will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Other rumors have indicated there may be a more pure experience released for this device at some point via an Android One variation. There’s been no word yet as to when this device is expected to officially break cover.
