HTC Imagine To Sport SD845, 6GB Of RAM & Android 8.0: Rumor

The HTC ‘Imagine’ specifications have just surfaced on Twitter, courtesy of LlabTooFeR. The tipster shared quite a few details when it comes to the HTC Imagine, and judging by these specs, the HTC Imagine could launch as the HTC U12. These are flagship specs we’re looking at, and even though we’re still not sure if the company’s new flagship will carry the HTC U12 name, we do seem to know its spec sheet now.

According to the source, the HTC Imagine will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, Qualcomm’s all-new flagship SoC. This processor is fueling the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus handsets, and the same goes for the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones, all of which were introducing during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. That processor will fuel a ton of flagship handsets this year, so it’s definitely not surprising HTC’s flagship offering will include it as well. In addition to that processor, the HTC Imagine will also sport 6GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage, while IP68 certification for water and dust resistance will also be a part of the package. The device will include a 3,420mAh battery, and even though it was not mentioned by LlabTooFeR, that battery will probably not be removable. A 5.99-inch QHD+ display will also be a part of the package, which means we’re probably looking at an 18:9 display aspect ratio here.

Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on the HTC Imagine, while HTC’s Sense 10 UI will be included on top of it. 12 and 16-megapixel shooters (Sony’s sensors) will be included on the back of the HTC Imagine, while a single 8-megapixel camera will sit on the phone’s front side. Face Unlock will be a part of the offering as well, and the same goes for Edge Sense 2.0 feature. The device will have full Treble support, which makes it possible for HTC to release updates for this phone really quick. Both single-SIM and dual-SIM variants of the device will be made available, and that’s pretty much all the info that LlabTooFeR shared. We’re still not sure when will this smartphone become official, but the HTC U11 arrived in May last year, so it’s possible that the HTC Imagine aka HTC U12 will land in May this year, we’ll see.
