Huawei Unveils Nova 2 Lite With Android Oreo, 3GB Of RAM

The Huawei Nova 2 Lite has just been announced in the Philippines. The Huawei Nova 2 Lite is a phone made out of metal and glass, and it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while there are two cameras on the back of this phone as well. The device’s bezels are not thick at all, and if the source is to be believed, the device will cost P9,990 ($192) in the Philippines. Pre-orders for this handset will kick off on March 14, tomorrow, and will last until March 23. If you live in the Philippines, and pre-order this phone, you will get a free pair of JBL Bluetooth headphones which are worth P4,599 ($88) on their own, which is not a bad deal.

Now, as far as specs are concerned, this is an entry-level smartphone. The Huawei Nova 2 Lite features a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) IPS display, while it is fueled by the Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.4GHz. The phone also comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). 13 and 2-megapixel snappers are placed on the back of the Huawei Nova 2 Lite, along with an LED flash, while an 8-megapixel camera can be found on the phone’s front side. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and it should be more than enough to keep the phone alive for the whole day, as the phone’s display and processors are not exactly power-hungry. The phone comes with two SIM card slots, while Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0.

The Huawei Nova 2 Lite comes with face unlock, and it uses its front-facing camera to scan your face. The phone does support 4G LTE, while it comes in Matte Black, Blue, and Gold color variants. The Huawei Nova 2 Lite measures 158.3 x 76.7 x 7.8mm, while it weighs 155 grams. That is pretty much all the info that the source shared, but it is possible that more info will surface in the near future, as this was a quiet launch on Huawei’s part, and not all the Huawei Nova 2 Lite-related info was shared. Chances are that this smartphone will make its way to other emerging markets in the near future.
