Huawei's P20 Video Teasers Show Horizontally-Aligned Cameras

Huawei has just released two new video teasers on its official Twitter page, and these teasers are kind of confusing. The Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite had surfaced quite a few times thus far, and Evan Blass even shared seemingly-official press renders of all three devices yesterday. Now, if you take a look at the provided video teasers, both of which are embedded down below, you will see that Huawei clearly indicates that cameras will be horizontally-aligned on the upcoming P20 handsets, while the company also teases three cameras, though we’ll see three cameras only on the Huawei P20 Pro, the other two phones will ship with dual camera setups.

Based on the renders Mr. Blass provided yesterday, all three P20 handsets will be made out of metal and glass. Those three phones will actually look quite similar one to the other, though the fingerprint scanner won’t be positioned in the same place on all phones. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will ship with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, while the P20 Lite will feature a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. All three devices will sport a notch at the top of the display, though it seems like the Huawei P20 Lite’s notch will be slightly larger (wider) than the notch on the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. If the leaked renders are to be believed, all three phones will sport vertically-aligned cameras, while all those cameras will protrude a bit. Physical buttons will sit on the right side of all P20 handsets, while a SIM card tray will probably be included on the left.

The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will ship with Leica’s lenses, though it seems like that won’t be the case with the Huawei P20 Lite, which was expected. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be fueled by Huawei’s flagship SoC, the Kirin 970, which is the same processor that fuels the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and PORSCHE DESIGN Mate 10 smartphones. All Huawei P20 handsets will ship with Android Oreo, while Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0 skin will be included on top of Android. The Huawei P20 Pro will almost certainly include 6GB of RAM on the inside, while the P20 and P20 Lite may ship with 4GB of RAM, though we still can’t confirm that. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be announced on March 27, and it’s possible that the P20 Lite will launch along with its siblings as well.
