Nubia V18 Introduced With Thin Bezels, 4,000mAh Battery

Nubia has just announced the Nubia V18 in China. This is the company’s new mid-range handset, which was teased a couple of times in the last week or so.The Nubia V18 does not sport a display notch, unlike many other mid-range smartphones that were announced in China lately, which may be a relief for some of you. This is also the first smartphone in the company’s new ‘V’ series of devices, which is probably why its name does not sound familiar at all. As far as the name itself is concerned, the number ‘18’ probably has to do something with the year we’re currently in, 2018, though we’re only guessing.

This smartphone is made out of metal, while Nubia included a fingerprint scanner on the back of this phone, The device actually resembles the OnePlus 5T quite a bit, at least based on the provided renders. The Nubia V18’s display features slightly rounded corners, while all the physical keys sit on the right-hand side of the phone. Bezels on this handset are quite thin, while a single camera sits on the back of the device. Facial recognition is also included here, and it uses the phone’s front-facing camera in order to scan your face. The company claims that its facial recognition tech scans 106 facial points on your face in order to get an accurate scan. The device features a 6.01-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, which is one of Qualcomm’s mid-range chips. The phone also comes with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card).

A 4,000mAh non-removable battery is also included in this package, while a 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture) sits on the back of this phone. An 8-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side, while the device also offers two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM), and we’re looking at a hybrid dual SIM setup here, which means you will be able to expand this phone’s storage by utilizing the second SIM card slot. Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the phone, along with the company’s Nubia UI 5.1. Speaking of software, Nubia’s NeoPower 3.0 battery tech is included here, and the Nubia V18 can actually charge other devices, so you can essentially use it as a power bank of sorts. The Nubia V18 measures 158.7 x 75.5 x 7.75mm, while it weighs 170 grams. The device comes in Black, Red, and Gold color variants, while it is priced at 1,299 Yuan (205) in China. The phone can already be pre-ordered in China, while it will go on sale on March 29.
