OPPO F7 Leak Details Specs; Helio P60, Display Notch Listed

With OPPO expected to announce the next entrant to its mid-range F series coming Monday, the detailed specifications of the device have leaked, this time via sales pitch documents. The OPPO F7 will debut in India on March 26, press invites for which are already out. As per the previous leaks, the phone is expected to follow the recent trend of including a display notch while achieving an improved screen-to-body ratio. On the other hand, this new leak reveals the full specifications of the device that are more or less in line with the formerly leaked information.

The documents lay a great emphasis on the phone’s near bezel-less display and AI-based features to perhaps persuade the prospective buyers. Based on the notes, the OPPO F7 will sport a 6.23-inch notched display with an FHD+ resolution of 2,280 x 1080 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 88-percent in a 19:9 aspect ratio. It will come powered by a fairly new octa-core Helio P60 chipset from MediaTek, which is expected to be paired with 6GB of RAM. The handset will boast a 3,400mAh battery, that will offer a usage time of 15 hours, according to the leaked notes. It will run OPPO’s ColorOS 5.0 based on an unknown version of Android, which is expected to offer facial unlock feature using the front-facing camera. The Chinese smartphone maker has already confirmed via several teaser images that the F7 will include a single rear camera which will reportedly have a 16-megapixel sensor. Despite having a single camera, OPPO will leverage AI to provide a depth mode using the ‘AI Recognise Technology’ and it will also feature ‘AI Scene’ to choose the best camera setting by analyzing the subject in real time. ‘AI Album’ is another feature mentioned in the list that will arrange the user’s photos and videos based on the people, places, time, etc., much like the Google Photos.

AI also plays a big part in the phone’s 25-megapixel front-facing camera, which happens to be the USP of the OPPO F series devices. The one on the F7 supports HDR and offers a real-time preview option. AI-based beautification feature has also been included here, which is a popular feature in some of the Asian markets, and the device also includes a dedicated Vivid Mode. Some form of AR stickers will also be included in the camera app for the front camera and OPPO will add more stickers in the near future, like cricket-based ones, a favored sport in the South-Asian market. OPPO will be officially announcing the mid-range smartphone next week on March 26.
