Vivo will announce a new smartphone on March 22, the Vivo V9. The company has confirmed this quite recently, and in addition to that, a new teaser image has been shared. In addition to announcing this press conference, and sharing a new teaser image, the company also mentioned ‘AI’ and Vivo V9’s camera capabilities (which are actually related in this case), as those are the two things Vivo is focusing on here, along with a ‘FullView’ display, which will be included on the device.
Now, as far as the phone’s camera is concerned, it will use Vivo’s algorithms to boost images, even though AI will be applied throughout the system, mentions Vivo. The phone will sport a notch at the top of its display, and a really thin ‘chin’ below the display, while the rest of its bezels will be extremely thin, almost non-existent. That being said, the Vivo V9 was briefly listed on the company’s website quite recently, and that listing revealed pretty much all the details about the device. We do know that the phone will ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while it will sport a vertically-aligned dual camera setup. The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, while all the physical keys will sit on the right-hand side of the device. The device will be announced on March 22 in China, and it seems like it will reach India on March 23, at least according to various reports.
Now, as far as specs are concerned, the device will sport a fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display, and rumors claim that we’re looking at a 6.3-inch panel here. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel this handset, while the phone will pack in 4GB of RAM. Vivo will also include 64GB of expandable storage in this phone, and the same goes for two SIM card slots. It is worth noting that the Vivo V9 will not include a hybrid dual SIM setup, as its microSD card slot will be separated from its dual SIM card slots. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, along with Vivo’s Funtouch OS. 16 and 5-megapixel shooters will be included on the back of the Vivo V9, while a 24-megapixel snapper will sit on the phone’s front side. The device will also ship with facial recognition tech, and the company’s ‘Smart Split 3.0’ multitasking.
