The upcoming Vivo X21 has just surfaced on Geekbench. This handset had surfaced in real-life images earlier this month, while Vivo confirmed a while back that the phone will be announced on March 19 in China, which is only a couple of days away. Having said that, the phone is listed on Geekbench under the name ‘Vivo X21 UD’, which suggests that it will ship with an in-display fingerprint scanner, just like the Vivo X20 Plus UD. In addition to that in-display fingerprint scanner, the phone will also feature a display notch, which is something that recently-leaked images confirmed.
According to Geekbench, the Vivo X21 UD will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, while Vivo’s Funtouch OS will be included as well. Geekbench also reports that this handset will be fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC, Qualcomm’s mid-range chip. That processor will be coupled with 6GB of RAM in the Vivo X21 UD’s case, and Geekbench also revealed how well did the phone do in benchmark tests. In the single-core test, the Vivo X21 UD managed to score 1,608 points, while it hit 5,852 points in the multi-core test. This handset will sport really thin bezels, if the leaked images are to be believed, and its display will ship with rounded corners. The device will be made out of metal and glass, while the phone will sport a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on its back.
Having said that, the previously leaked images reported that the device will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, so it is possible that Vivo is planning to release two variants of the Vivo X21, one with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and the other with an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is more likely that Vivo will opt for one of the two variants, but there’s a chance that we may see both versions announced on March 19. As far as the phone’s display is concerned, we still do not have any info regarding that, but chances are it will measure around 6-inches, while Vivo will probably opt for a fullHD+ resolution, but we’re only guessing here, based on the company’s previous models.
