The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is one of the company’s upcoming flagships, and an alleged real-life image of the device has just surfaced in China. If you take a look at the provided image, you will be able to see a phone that has extremely thin bezels, and a curved glass on top of its display. Side and top bezels are basically non-existent, but it seems like a thin bezel is included below the phone’s display, though we’re not entirely sure as the bottom part of the phone’s wallpaper is pitch black.
In any case, a fingerprint image is placed on the display, and the source claims that it indicates a placement of an in-display fingerprint scanner. If Xiaomi opts to include an in-display fingerprint scanner, chances are they will go with the same one Vivo used in the X20 Plus UD, as that seems to be the only in-display fingerprint scanner that is already in the hands of some manufacturers. That means that the Mi MIX 2S will sport an OLED display, as Synaptics’ Clear ID fingerprint scanner works only with OLED displays. Now, this phone’s firmware did leak recently, and if the provided info is to be believed, the Mi MIX 2S is referred to as ‘polaris’ by Xiaomi, as that seems to be its codename. Lei Jun already confirmed that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC, and that it will be announced on March 27 in China, so we’re still almost a month away from its announcement.
The leaked firmware suggested that the phone will ship with a 3,400mAh non-removable battery, while Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin. A fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display will also be a part of the package, allegedly, while the phone will probably ship with a dual camera setup on the back, though that part was not mentioned in the leaked firmware. If rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will ship with 6GB / 8GB of RAM, and that’s pretty much all the info that we have at the moment. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is launching later this month, so the Mi 7 probably won’t launch as soon as consumers were hoping it will. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is rumored to arrive in June, for those of you who are interested in the company’s other flagship phone.
