Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S To Sport Dual Cameras, Teaser Suggests

Xiaomi has just released a new Mi MIX 2S teaser, and it seems like this one is also camera-related. Xiaomi is quite cryptic about this teaser as well, which is not exactly surprising, but Xiaomi did mention that this teaser relates to Mi MIX 2S’ camera or camera features. If you take a look at the provided teaser, which can be seen in a .gif image which Xiaomi shared on Weibo (Chinese social networks), you will see a circle and a square drawn on a piece of paper with a hand. This teaser doesn’t really say much on its own, but several Chinese sites claim that this teaser means that the Mi MIX 2S will ship with two rear-facing cameras which can function independently.

Truth be said, Chinese websites did not share a proper explanation as to what this all means, as a telephoto and monochrome cameras can function independently as well, they don’t need a primary RGB sensor in order to shoot images, so technically, every smartphone which has a monochrome or telephoto secondary rear-facing camera can use only that camera to shoot images. By that logic, the Mi MIX 2S will feature one of the two, probably, so this teaser doesn’t reveal anything spectacular, but as already said, we’re only speculating at this point. In any case, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be announced on March 27, the company had confirmed that a while back, and thanks to leaked firmware files of the device, we also know what to expect from it. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, which essentially means that this phone will become Xiaomi’s new flagship, and at the same time, it probably means that the Mi 7 will arrive later this year, not in April, when pretty much everyone expected it to launch before Xiaomi announced that the Mi MIX 2S will be announced in March.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will sport a fullHD+ display, though we still do not know how large will that display be, even though rumors are suggesting we’re looking at a 5.99-inch panel here. We’re probably looking at an OLED panel here, and the device will almost certainly arrive in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. It is also quite possible that Xiaomi may introduce two physically different variants of the Mi MIX 2S, as it did with the Mi MIX 2, which means that we could get a metal + glass variant, and also a ceramic unibody model.
