A new report has emerged to reveal certain launch details of the upcoming Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus. According to it, Samsung is planning for a global debut of the two devices in India. The launch will happen sometime by the end of this month, as per the publication’s sources in retail. A handful of basic specifications of the Galaxy A6 have also been provided in the report, according to which, the device will sport a 5.6-inch display with an HD resolution. This piece of information is questionable up to an extent since a number of older leaks from reliable sources have suggested an Infinity Display for the Galaxy A6 pair with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Even if Samsung chooses to go for a 720p resolution display for the handset, which isn’t confirmed yet, it will still have an HD+ resolution of 1,480 x 720 pixels, given the aspect ratio.
Besides the display details, the report adds that the Galaxy A6 will have 4GB of RAM paired with 32GB of internal storage along with a 16-megapixel camera both on its front and back. The front-facing 16-megapixel primary camera will be coupled with a secondary camera sensor of an unknown resolution. A dual-camera setup on the front of a Samsung device was first seen on the Galaxy A8 series that has been available since early this year. The Galaxy A6 is also expected to get a 3,000mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Like it has been the case with most Samsung devices, the Indian model of the phone will be powered by an Exynos processor which is expected to be the 7870 chipset, according to previous leaks. Not much has been said about the Galaxy A6 Plus, except the fact it will be announced alongside the Galaxy A6.
The Galaxy A6 Plus is expected to be improved on the hardware front to include a larger 6-inch display and probably a larger battery as well. A previous leak said it to come boasting a Snapdragon 625 processor, likely in a device model meant for the US market, while the Indian variant should get an Exynos processor. Concept renders of the two Galaxy A6 devices had leaked yesterday showing a pair of rear cameras for the Plus variant positioned in the same fashion as the Galaxy S9 Plus.
