The Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus has passed through the certification process of the Taiwanese telecommunications regulator National Communications Commission (NCC). The certification provided details regarding the connectivity features of the upcoming handset, which can be identified by the model number SM-A605G/DS which is indicative of dual-SIM capabilities, and it also included images of the device’s front and back. The photographs somewhat confirm earlier leaked renders of the handset, including the existence of dual rear cameras. In addition, the photographs show that the handset’s fingerprint scanner is located directly below the two rear cameras, while the LED flash is placed to the right of the sensors.
The power button is located on the right side of the device, the volume buttons reside on the opposite edge. On the other hand, the images show that the front-facing LED flash, earpiece, and the selfie camera are all unsurprisingly placed directly above the handset’s display. Also according to the NCC, the Galaxy A6 Plus can connect to Wi-Fi networks running on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, thus featuring standard wireless capabilities. In addition, the specific model of the device certified by the regulator can connect to LTE networks running on bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 38, and 41.
Some recent leaks have provided details regarding other specifications of the Galaxy A6 Plus, indicating the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset from Qualcomm running at up to 2.0GHz and featuring the Adreno 512 GPU. The handset is also expected to sport a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2,220 by 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. In addition, rumors indicate that the handset will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage expandable with a microSD card by up to 256GB of extra memory. Aside from the Galaxy A6 Plus, the South Korean device maker is also expected to launch the Galaxy A6 in the coming weeks. That particular handset should sport a smaller 5.6-inch display and will reportedly include 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash storage. Instead of the dual rear cameras of the Galaxy A6 Plus, the Galaxy A6 will reportedly have only a single main sensor.
