Huawei has just announced yet another affordable smartphone, the Huawei Y6 (2018). This handset is now listed on the company’s official website, and it will start arriving to various markets in the near future, markets like Russia and the Philippines, as those seem to be the first in line. That being said, Huawei did not release an official price tag for this handset, but chances are it will cost less than $200, maybe even significantly less.
The phone’s frame is made out of metal, though we’re still not sure if the back side is as well, though it’s possible that Huawei utilized plastic for the phone’s back cover. The company’s logo is included on both the phone’s back and front sides, while the device’s bezels are not exactly razor thin, but they’re not that thick either. The device features a single camera on its back, while a fingerprint scanner does not seem to be a part of the package at all, but the Huawei Y6 (2018) does sport facial unlocking (which uses the device’s front camera) as a replacement. All the physical keys are included on the right-hand side of this phone, and the phone’s display does not sport rounded corners. It is worth noting that this is the third-gen Huawei Y6 handset, as Huawei has been introducing new variants of this phone for the last couple of years. Now, in terms of specs, the Huawei Y6 (2018) sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, while the phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz, and which includes the Adreno 506 GPU for graphics.
Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the Huawei Y6 (2018), while on top of it you’ll be able to find Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0 skin. The device also comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage, while you will find a 13-megapixel snapper on its back. A 5-megapixel camera is located on the front side of this smartphone, while a 3,000mAh battery is a part of this package as well. The device measures 152.4 x 73 x 7.8mm, while it weighs 150 grams, and on the official website, Huawei mentions that the phone will be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color variants.
