Latin America's Largest Dog-Walking App Moving To Expand

PaseaPerros, the largest dog-walking web app in Latin America, is moving to scale up its business with the help of Startup Chile, one of the most established startup acceleration programs in the region. After three years of operation that saw the firm organize 61,000 dog walks with over 12,000 walkers across five countries and an effectively non-existing marketing budget, Startup Chile helped it raise some funds that it will be leveraging to make its business more efficient and increase its overall scale in the near term.

PaseaPerros was selected as part of the 19th iteration of Startup Chile’s incubation program which has so far incubated over 1,300 companies with a total value of some $1.4 billion. Late last year, the company acquired its Argentinian competitor Woofi, having integrated its team and technologies into its own business. PaseaPerros is presently operating in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru, having also previously launched operations in Spain. The company says it already has over 10,000 active users in those territories and is hoping to continue growing in a sustained manner moving forward. Dog-walking apps and services have recently been on the rise, with Rover and Wag profiling themselves as the leading providers of such solutions in North America, backed by some massive capital coming from all over the world.

PaeaPerros and similar services are all effectively offering the same thing – peace of mind for pet owners in scenarios when they aren’t able to walk their furry friends in a timely manner and a money-making opportunity for individuals who love animals. All dog walkers users can fire through PaeaPerros are certified by the company and rated by their previous clients, with every booking made via the service also including pet insurance, customer service, GPS tracking system, first aid kit, and a daily influx of photos of your dog being out on a walk.
