LG G7 To Launch In Late April, Go On Sale In May: Report

According to a report from South Korea, the LG G7 will be announced in late April. This info was, allegedly, confirmed by the company itself to the South Korean media. Reservations for the device are expected to kick off a week after the phone gets announced, and the device will become available for purchase (in Korea) in mid-May. It was also confirmed, according to the source, that the LG G7 will be available through all three major carriers in South Korea.

The LG G7 will, allegedly, be the very first smartphone which will ship with an M-LCD display, and that display tech is, according to the provided info, 35-percent more energy efficient than a regular LCD panel. M-LCD panels also cost significantly less than OLED panels, but their quality is quite similar, at least that’s what the report claims. The LG G7 will also ship with AI features, similar to those found in the LG V30S ThinQ, in case you were wondering. Now, if rumors are to be believed, the LG G7 will sport a dual camera setup on the back, just like its predecessor, though its main camera will sport an f/1.5 aperture, which should improve low light photography, in addition to LG’s software, of course. A display notch will be a part of the offering, though LG will probably offer you a way of hiding that notch, through software. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor will almost certainly fuel the device, while the phone will also include 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. It is worth noting that LG may introduce a ‘Plus’ model as well, and that variant may ship with more storage than a regular model.

The LG G7 is expected to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo, while LG’s custom UI will be applied on top of it. The device’s display probably won’t be larger than 6 inches, as LG will probably want to differentiate the LG G7 from its ‘V’ series of devices, as those phones are usually noticeably larger than LG’s smartphones from the ‘G’ series. In any case, the LG G7 is right around the corner, and if the source is to be believed, the phone will actually launch before the end of this month.
