New Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus Renders Reveal Front-Facing Flash

Three new renders depicting what’s said to be Samsung’s Galaxy A6 Plus wrapped in a protective case emerged online on Monday, having been shared by Dutch tech blog Galaxy Club. The images that can be seen above reveal yet another device with an 18.5:9 Infinity Display panel, a Super AMOLED module Samsung first introduced with the Galaxy S8 lineup in early 2017 before the unique screen started trickling down to the company’s mid-range handsets some seven months later. The supposed Galaxy A6 Plus can also be seen as featuring a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack, with its lock screen being indicative of Samsung Experience 9.0, the company’s proprietary implementation of Android 8.0 Oreo.

The rear side of the handset is reminiscent of the Galaxy S9, featuring a single camera and a somewhat oval fingerprint reader below it, as well as a dual-LED (dual-tone) flash unit. Compared to Samsung’s latest high-end Android phablet, the only thing that the Galaxy A6 Plus is missing on its back is a heart rate monitor. The slim top bezel of the device houses another single-lens sensor and a flash of its own, as well as an ambient light sensor. While the smartphone is said to be shipping with support for Samsung‘s digital assistant Bixby, it doesn’t have a physical Bixby button below its left-edge volume keys like the firm’s recently released Android flagships do, as indicated by the same source.

The Galaxy A6 series is expected to be launched a direct follow-up on last year’s Galaxy A5 line and could first debut in India before making its way to other markets around the world, as per recent reports. Besides the Galaxy A6 Plus, the new product family should also consist of a smaller Galaxy A6 which is likely to start at around $400. The upcoming Android smartphones have already been leaked on numerous occasions, with Samsung being rumored to launch them in the coming days, possibly even by the end of the month.
