The upcoming OnePlus 6 may ship with a pair of Bluetooth headphones advertised as the “OnePlus Bullets Wireless,” Nashville Chatter reported Wednesday, citing a recent product certification which can be seen below and mentions the said accessory by name. The gadget may hence replace the OnePlus Bullets V2 that the Chinese original equipment manufacturer has been offering for some time now, pricing them at approximately $20, depending on the market. OnePlus already confirmed its next Android flagship will be equipped with a headphone jack and has previously talked about the importance of the conventional 3.5mm audio port, having asserted Bluetooth solutions still haven’t reached a quality level that makes them comparable to wired headphones. Such claims were last repeated in 2017, between the releases of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.
The company’s last pair of headphones is still available for purchase in Black and White variants, with its previous such accessories also being offered in a small number of colors. Even should the OnePlus Bullets Wireless be commercialized, it remains to be seen if the firm ends up bundling them with its next Android flagship as even OEMs whose devices lack a 3.5mm audio jack rarely opt for such a move. The phone itself is already being teased by the Shenzhen, China-based manufacturer and is widely expected to debut late this month or in early May. OnePlus so far confirmed its next mobile offering will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 and be offered in several variants, with the most premium model boasting 256GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM. The OnePlus 6 will have a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 90-percent, with that achievement being made possible due to the inclusion of a display notch, the company said last month.
The successor to the OnePlus 5T is hence expected to deliver more screen real estate than the previous handset while retaining the same physical footprint, as well as its dual-camera setup, with the firm already hinting its new flagship will run an OxygenOS version based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The OnePlus 6 is likely to outsell all previous handsets from the OEM and should be offered on a global level.
