Samsung seems to be getting close to launching the rumored Galaxy A6 mid-range series after a customer support page for the aforementioned device, which bears the model number SM-A605FN, has surfaced on its Poland website. The Galaxy A6 series has been making the rounds on the web lately, with the SM-A605FN variant having most recently obtained a certification from the United States Federal Communications Commission. It’s important to note that the SM-A605FN refers to the larger model of the series, the Galaxy A6 Plus. Its smaller sibling, the Galaxy A6, previously received certification from the FCC earlier last week after passing through the Wi-Fi Alliance certification as the SM-A600FN.
Although the official support page for the Galaxy A6 lineup reveals no further details in regard to the device’s specs and features or its pricing and availability, it does indicate that the upcoming phones are undoubtedly rolling out to consumers in Europe sooner than later with a dual-SIM support. It was reported late last month that Samsung is supposedly launching the mid-range phones in Europe, Russia, and the Middle East, though there’s no confirmation from the company as of this time. Samsung is expected to debut its upcoming Android mid-rangers later this spring.
While neither the FCC certification nor the official support page for the Galaxy A6 series reveals nothing about what these devices have in store for consumers, two handsets identified by model numbers SM-A600FN and SM-A605G, believed to be the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus, respectively, were spotted on Geekbench benchmarking database earlier last month. The benchmarks revealed their core hardware specifications, suggesting that the phones are meant to compete in the upper mid-range segment of the smartphone market. According to the benchmarks, the Galaxy A6 will be powered by Samsung’s proprietary Exynos 7870 processor consisting of eight Cortex-A53 cores and the Mali-T830 GPU. In addition, the device is supposed to pack 3GB of RAM and run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, likely overlayed with Samsung Experience. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A6 Plus is likely to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with the Adreno 506 GPU. This model is also expected to come with Android 8.0 Oreo and ship with 4GB of RAM.
