T-Mobile on Wednesday announced new One Military plans for military members, as well as their families and small businesses, offering four lines for $100 or six lines for $120 per month. The basic plan starts at $55, i.e. $15 down the regular price a consumer would pay for a T-Mobile One line, with the second line being $25, and the other four available lines being priced at $10 each. The wireless carrier’s Half Off discount also applies here, allowing military members and their families to purchase popular flagships such as Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus at 50-percent off.
The promotion is officially starting on April 22, and as is the case with other T-Mobile One plans offered by the mobile service provider, taxes and other fees are already calculated into the cited costs, with subscribers also being eligible for other benefits at no extra charge. Among other things, the company is pointing to a free Netflix Standard subscription, full eligibility for T-Mobile Tuesdays, switching cost subsidies, Scam ID and Scam Block services, as well as Gogo Inflight support as some of the added incentives for choosing one of its T-Mobile One plans. The firm is describing its new move as the latest step in its efforts to continue being worthy of the title of a military-friendly employer awarded by the Military Friendly Company that it’s been holding for eleven consecutive years now.
As part of the same announcement, T-Mobile committed to hiring over 10,000 U.S. Military veterans and their spouses over the course of the next half a decade so as to combat the still-problematic trend of veteran unemployment. The Bellevue, Washington-base company also pledged to continue investing in the fifth generation of mobile networks and prioritize 5G deployment targeting communities around U.S. military bases going forward. In 2018 alone, T-Mobile is planning to commit over half a billion dollars to 4G LTE buildouts in such areas so as to prepare them for the rollout of 5G connectivity which it’s expecting to kick off on a national scale in 2019.
