Two Sharp Smartphones Appear On Android Official Website

Two new smartphones from the device maker Sharp has appeared on the official website of the Android operating system. The website provided a few details regarding the specifications of the two devices, as well as renders of the smartphones’ front panel. One of the devices that appeared on the official Android website is the Sharp SH-A01. This handset sports a 5.7-inch display, and it contains 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, although the website did not provide any information on whether the device supports the expansion of the storage using a microSD card. The website also mentioned that the SH-A01 sports a fingerprint sensor, and it lacks support for NFC. While the website did not provide information regarding the location of the fingerprint scanner, the render of the device’s front panel shows that there is an empty space below the display, which could mean that the sensor is placed in other parts of the handset. In addition, the renders show that the smartphone will utilize on-screen navigation buttons.

The Sharp A2 Mini has also appeared on the official website of the Android operating system. Like the Sharp SH-A01, this smartphone also sports a 5.7-inch display, although unlike the other handset, this device only contains 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage. In addition, the Sharp A2 Mini does not have a fingerprint sensor, and it also does not support NFC. Like the Sharp SH-A01, the render posted on the official Android website also shows that the device utilizes on-screen navigation buttons.

According to the official Android website, the two smartphones will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed. Even though it is not the newest version of the Android operating system, users of the two handsets can still take advantage of features like the Multi-window mode, Quick Reply functionality, and improved Doze mode. Multi-window mode enables users to open and view two applications in a split-screen view, while the Quick Reply functionality allows users to respond to messages and e-mails directly on the notification shade. This version of the operating system also includes an improved Doze mode. In Android Nougat, this power-saving feature is automatically triggered once the screen is turned off.
