Disney Heroes: Battle Mode Launches On Google Play Store

Following a brief pre-release period, Disney partner PerBlue Entertainment has now officially launched Disney Heroes: Battle Mode for Android. For those that may not recall, the game is a turn-based RPG game that combines the worlds created by both Disney and Pixar. Players are dropped into a “digital City” and tasked with saving the realm from a virus that’s trying to take over. The storyline begins with Wreck-It Ralph protagonists Vanellope von Schweetz and Ralph checking out an unreleased beta of a game before spiraling out of control. The virus pits friends against friends and players will need to battle things out to put an end to the plot and save the internet. Players control a variety of characters from both Disney and Pixar to accomplish that task.

Although the pre-registration app description and the newly released description don’t give away too much about the game itself, there have been a few changes between the two. For starters, players have access to over 25 characters at launch instead of the originally planned 15. Those include popular characters from The Incredibles, Toy Story, Zootopia, and, of course, Wreck-It Ralph. However, the roster also includes some unexpected playable characters such as Captain Jack Sparrow, WALL-E, and Monsters Inc.’s Mike Wazowski, among others. So there’s a huge assortment to choose from when players are building up their team to save the world. Each of those has unique capabilities and gear to level up, in true RPG fashion, and some level of strategy can be derived from the characters players choose to include in their own group.

As planned before this launch, the primary support for developers is going to be entirely ad-based, making this a free-to-play title. What’s more, it doesn’t look as though any in-app purchases will be required in order to complete the game or accomplish any in-game tasks or upgrades. That’s not to say that those won’t be present but, according to the developers, those won’t be required since plenty of in-game currency will be attainable through gameplay itself. It appears as though in-app purchases will be primarily limited to those who want to progress a bit more quickly, solving at least one complaint with many other apps on the Play Store. In the meantime, the game seems to be a lot of fun, so anybody interested will want to click on the Google Play Store button below.
