EcoFlow on Tuesday debuted what it claims is the world’s first airplane-friendly modular portable power station, having unveiled it in the form of the RIVER Bank. The newly announced gadget can charge six devices at once, is equipped with multiple widely embraced ports, and boasts certified support for fast 10W wireless charging based on the Qi standard. The San Francisco-based company says its latest offering is suitable for a wide variety of use case and is quick to point out that the RIVER Bank also features a USB data hub meant to allow for swift file transfers on the go.
Besides fast charging support and portability, one of the main selling points of EcoFlow’s product is its modular design which allows users to change its sub-modules in order to cater to specific charging ports and maximize the gadget’s power capacity. Every individual module has between 40 and 100 watt-hours of power, meaning you’re able to carry a massive amount of portable power containers to flights while still complying with the security regulations imposed by the United States Federal Aviation Administration which limit you to 100Wh battery packs. The cell modules are stackable and can transfer power between one another, in total offering close to 200Wh of portable energy.
