Front Panel Of Xiaomi's 8th Anniversary Phone Appears

Not long ago, a rumor surfaced that Xiaomi is planning to release its special edition 8th anniversary smartphone before the end of this month, and now the phone’s retail box, front panel, and some additional materials for the device surfaced in China, as you can see down below. Now, rumors are claiming that this is Xiaomi’s 8th anniversary handset, and not the Xiaomi Mi 8, even though these leaks are not all that specific. In any case, this phone is rumored to arrive on during Xiaomi’s press event in Shenzen which will take place soon (no date was given yet), as Xiaomi’s CEO confirmed that the company will launch multiple devices at the event.

One of the images down below shows off the device’s retail box which has a huge number “8” on it, though this box does not really reveal anything, there are no specs written on it or anything of the sort. The phone’s front panel is also included in the gallery, however, and this image suggests that the device will have a 3D face scanning feature, similar to the iPhone X. As you can see, there are a ton of sensors included in the top notch, while the notch itself is quite wide. The phone’s display will sport rounded corners, and the device will include a thin bezel below the display. This 3D face scanning module surfaced quite recently, actually, and rumors have been saying that one of the company’s devices will sport such a feature. Now, as far as specs are concerned, we really do not know what to expect from this handset, as no info surfaced, but we’re guessing that it will ship with high-end specs, which probably means we’ll get the Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and so on.

Xiaomi’s 8th anniversary smartphone is rumored to arrive along with the Mi 7 and Mi Band 3 later this month. The Xiaomi Mi 7 will also be a high-end handset, presuming that Xiaomi actually plans to introduce it. The device is rumored to feature a display notch, Snapdragon 845 SoC, wireless charging, and ship with Android Oreo out of the box, with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin on top of it. The Mi Band 3 fitness tracker had been teased by the company already, and it will almost certainly land in the near future.
