HMD Global had introduced the Nokia X6 in China quite recently, and now the company’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), Juho Sarvikas, wants to know whether consumers outside of China are interested in the device. Mr. Sarvikas fired up a poll on Twitter in order to find out, and it seems like quite a few people are interested in the phone, as 91-percent of them voted “Yes” at the time of writing this article. It is worth noting that over 6,000 people voted, so… it seems like the Nokia X6 will be launching outside of China in the near future.
Now, on top of that, the Nokia TA-1103 got its Bluetooth certification quite recently as well, and reports are claiming that this is the global variant of the Nokia X6. As a reminder, the Chinese variant of the Nokia X6 comes with a TA-1099 model number. The Nokia TA-1103 did not pop up on any Chinese certification site yet, so it’s possible that we’re looking at a global variant here, while Mr. Sarvikas’ poll makes that even more possible. The Nokia X6 is a mid-range phone which is made out of metal and glass, and it’s also the company’s first smartphone that sports a display notch. The Nokia X6’s pricing starts at 1,299 Yuan ($204) in China, which makes it extremely affordable, especially having its specs in mind, which is probably why people outside of China are interested in it as well. The Nokia X6 was announced in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants in China, and the phone ships with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, while it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a dual camera setup on the back.
The device features a 5.8-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor. 16 and 5-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the phone, while a single 16-megapixel camera sits on the phone’s front side. A 3,060mAh battery is also included in this package, and so is Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging tech. The device comes with two SIM card slots, while it also offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is not that common in smartphones these days. If the Nokia X6 arrives to markets outside of China, it will surely be a bit more expensive, but it remains to be seen how much more expensive.
