HMD Global has just announced the much-rumored Nokia X6 handset. This device has been announced in China, and it’s exactly what we’ve expected, as a ton of images surfaced prior to the phone’s launch, along with additional info. In any case, the Nokia X6 is made out of metal and glass, while it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. This smartphone comes with a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, below which you’ll notice an LED flash. Nokia’s branding is included both on the phone’s front and back sides, while the device’s display sports rounded corners.
The Nokia X6 sports really thin bezels, though it does have a small ‘chin’ below the display, and also a notch at the top of the display, though that notch is not too wide, it’s about the size of the Huawei P20’s and Honor 10’s notch. It is also worth saying that the Nokia X6 is the company’s first X-branded smartphone ever, and that it comes with some AI-based camera features. The Nokia X6 offers AI portrait and scene recognition modes, while the phone features a 5.8-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, while Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 is included on top of that display. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Qualcomm’s mid-range chip. The Nokia X6 comes in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, the phone’s 4GB RAM model comes in both 32GB and 64GB flavors, while the 6GB RAM option includes 64GB of included storage. You can expand storage in all of these variants of the phone using a microSD card, though.
On the back of the Nokia X6, you will be able to find 16-megapixel (RGB sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 1.0um pixel size) and 5-megapixel (monochrome sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1.2um pixel size) cameras, while a 16-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture, 1.0um pixel size) camera is included on the phone’s front side. A 3.5mm headphone jack is a part of this package, while Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device. This handset comes with a hybrid dual SIM setup, it includes two SIM card slots, though you can insert a microSD card slot in the second nano SIM card slot if you’d like to expand the phone’s storage. A 3,060mAh battery is also a part of this package, and the device supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. A Type-C port lies on the bottom of the phone’s body, while Bluetooth 5.0 is also included in the package. The Nokia X6 measures 147.2 x 70.98 x 7.99-8.59mm, while it weighs 151 grams.
The Nokia X6 comes in Black, Blue, and Silver color variants, its 4GB RAM variant with 32GB of storage is priced at 1,299 Yuan ($204), while the 4GB RAM model with 64GB of storage costs 1,499 Yuan ($235). A 6GB RAM model of the phone which comes with 64GB of storage carries a price tag of 1,699 Yuan ($267) in China.
