It seems like the OnePlus 6 sales are off to a strong start in two largest smartphone markets in the world, China and India. According to a statement that OnePlus’ CEO, Carl Pei, provided to Android Authority, OnePlus managed to sell 100,000 units of the OnePlus 6 in the first 12 minutes of sales in China. In India, on the other hand, in the first 10 minutes of availability on Amazon, the company generated over one billion rupees ($14.7 million) in revenue. It is also worth noting that the phone was made available via OnePlus’ website in India yesterday, and also to Amazon Prime users, while general sales in the country kick off today.
Speaking of sales, the company starts selling the OnePlus 6 today in North America, Europe, China, and India, and we’re talking about open sales here. It will be interesting to see how many units will OnePlus be able to sell in the next couple of weeks, if the company provides the public with some sales numbers of course. Initial sales in China and India are promising, though it remains to be seen if the same will happen in Europe and North America. The OnePlus 6 was announced last week, as the company’s all-new flagship smartphone. OnePlus introduced the device in London, and the OnePlus 6 does pack high-end specs, even though it’s a bit more expensive than the OnePlus 5T was back when it launched. OnePlus introduced Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and Silk White color variants of the OnePlus 6, though only Mirror Black and Midnight Black go on sale today, the Silk White model will become available on June 5.
The OnePlus 6 is made out of metal, and it sports a 6.28-inch fullHD+ Optic AMOLED display. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC, while it comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. A 3,300mAh battery is included in the package, while OnePlus’ proprietary Dash Charge fast charging is also included. 16 and 20-megapixel cameras are placed on the back of the OnePlus 6, while a single 16-megapixel camera is included on the phone’s front side. A 3.5mm headphone jack is still included here, while the phone ships with a Type-C USB port, and doesn’t offer wireless charging.
