The specifications of two upcoming smartphones from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu have been detailed in the test documents submitted by the device maker to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The two smartphones are identified by the model numbers M809L and M810L, and it is rumored that the two handsets will be marketed as the Meizu M8c Lite and the Meizu M8c respectively. Recent rumors claim that the Meizu M8c Lite will ship as an Android Go smartphone. In contrast, the Meizu M8c will likely run the device maker’s proprietary skin, the FlymeOS, on top of Google’s operating system. It should be noted that the device maker has already confirmed last month that it is developing an Android Go smartphone.
Based on the documents submitted by Meizu to the FCC, the rear camera of the Meizu M8c Lite will have an 8-megapixel sensor while the front-facing selfie shooter will likely be equipped with a 5-megapixel snapper. In addition, the Meizu M8c Lite will contain 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal flash storage. Meanwhile, the Meizu M8c will have a higher resolution 13-megapixel rear shooter and the device’s front-facing camera will have an 8-megapixel sensor. The test documents also indicate that the two smartphones can accept two SIM cards at the same time, which means that the handset can connect to two different networks simultaneously. It was also mentioned in the submitted documents that the Meizu M8c Lite will have a CPU that runs at a maximum clock speed of 1.4GHz. Both the Meizu M8c Lite and the Meizu M8c are compatible with 2G GSM, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE networks that run on bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, and 40. The handsets also support connectivity features like Bluetooth and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
A diagram included with the submitted test documents also provided details regarding the design of the Meizu M8c Lite. Based on the diagram, a 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the top of the handset, while the bottom of the smartphone contains the microUSB port, the microphone, and the grills for the loudspeaker. Both the power button and the volume rocker are located on the right side of the device, while the SIM card slot is placed on the left side of the smartphone.
