OnePlus Chief Executive Officer Pete Lau on Monday shared even more sample photographs taken with the OnePlus 6, revealing the four images that can be seen in the gallery below. While Weibo ended up compressing the imagery in such a manner that any fine detail that was present in the originals is now lost, the samples serve as yet another suggestion that the upcoming Android flagship will boast a wider dynamic range and improved low-light performance compared to the OnePlus 5T.
The OnePlus 6 has already been leaked on numerous occasions in recent weeks and the Chinese company itself has been sharing some information about the device as well so as to keep it in the 24-hour news cycle as long as possible. The end result is the longest OnePlus teaser campaign to date that’s been ongoing for a month and a half now and revealed the handset will have some sort of an IP rating, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip, up to 8GB of RAM, and a maximum of 256GB of storage space. The imaging capabilities of the OnePlus 6 remain a mystery, with leaks pointing to a dual-camera setup and industry watchers speculating the system is similar to the one found inside the OnePlus 5T but no concrete information on the matter making its way to the World Wide Web.
The last Android offering from OnePlus paired a 20-megapixel sensor with a 16-megapixel one and lacked a telephoto lens, with its successor possibly following suit. OnePlus already mentioned artificial intelligence technologies as being part of its next camera package but has yet to elaborate on the matter, though the implications of that teaser largely come down to a smart Beautification mode and improved scene recognition, as is the case with select OPPO-made handsets. The front camera of the OnePlus 6 will reside inside of a screen cutout and likely utilize a 16-megapixel sensor, whereas both systems should support Portrait mode. The OnePlus 6 is set to be announced tomorrow and will go on sale globally by the end of the month.
