OnePlus has just announced that the OnePlus 6 is the company’s fastest selling smartphone ever. The company announced this via its official Twitter account, but did not share any additional info. What we do know from this statement is that the OnePlus 6 sales beat sales of all of its predecessors in a specific timeframe, and that timeframe is less than a day, as the company published this info on the same day the phone was made available for purchase.
OnePlus had introduced the OnePlus 6 last week, and the phone became available for purchase in China, India, Europe and the US yesterday, on May 22. The OnePlus 6 comes in several variants, OnePlus had introduced Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and SIlk White variants of the device, though only the first two are currently available, the Silk White model will go on sale on June 5. Having said that, the Mirror Black model comes in both 6GB and 8GB RAM flavors, with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The Midnight Black variant is available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the Silk White model comes in only one option, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device’s pricing starts at $529 / €519, and the phone is made out of metal and glass, even though all of these variants ship with a different-looking glass panel on the back.
The OnePlus 6 does sport a display notch, while it comes with a 6.28-inch fullHD+ display. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it sports a 3,300mAh battery. Speaking of which, OnePlus’ Dash Charge fast charging is also included in this package, while you will find 16 and 20-megapixel cameras on the back of the phone. A 16-megapixel camera sits on the phone’s front side, while Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin. The OnePlus 6 features a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while facial scanning is also available via the phone’s front-facing camera.
