OnePlus will introduce its new flagship, the OnePlus 6, on May 16 in London, and while we’re waiting for that to happen, let’s check out the phone’s CAD renders that have just surfaced. These renders do not exactly surprise anyone, as the device had leaked a number of times thus far, while OnePlus released a couple of teasers as well, revealing parts of the phone’s design along the way.
As you can see, the OnePlus 6 will be made out of metal and glass, while its back side will be curved. The device will include two cameras on the back, and those two cameras will not be flush with the phone’s back side, they will protrude a bit. Right below its cameras, the device will sport a dual-LED flash, and a fingerprint scanner. OnePlus’ logo will be engraved on the back of the phone as well, while a display notch will be a part of the package as well. A thin ‘chin’ will be included below the phone’s display, and these images also show us the OnePlus 6’s setup on the bottom. The device will include a Type-C USB port, a loudspeaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom, just like its predecessor. A power / lock key will be included on the right-hand side of the device, while you’ll also find an alert slider on that side, which is the first time that a OnePlus-branded handset will ship with a right-facing alert slider. Volume up and volume down buttons will sit on the left-hand side of the phone, along with a SIM card tray.
Now, OnePlus has already confirmed that the device will sport a display notch, and that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC. The company also confirmed that the phone will sport an IP certification for water and dust resistance, which is a first for one of OnePlus’ smartphones. The most powerful variant of the device will sport 8GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage, which was also confirmed by the company, but a 6GB RAM model will also be available. The device will almost certainly feature a 6.28-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display, while OnePlus’ Dash Charge fast charging will be a part of the package as well. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s OxygenOS skin.
