OnePlus 6 Packaging Leak Shows Familiar Box Design

A real-life image depicting what’s said to be the official retail packaging of the OnePlus 6 appeared online earlier this week, having been spotted on Twitter. The photograph that can be seen above shows a familiar design that’s virtually identical to the boxes in which the Chinese company shipped the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, save for unsurprisingly having a large number six embedded into its front. A special edition of the OnePlus 6 themed after Marvel’s new Hollywood hit Avengers: Infinity War is also confirmed as coming soon, though a previous leak indicated that particular model will come in a much larger package, presumably because it will be bundled with some extra accessories and merchandise.

The OnePlus 6 has already been the subject of dozens of leaks, rumors, and reports over the course of the last several months and the phone maker itself disclosed many details about the upcoming Android flagship as part of its six-week teaser campaign which is set to be concluded today. The handset is expected to be offered in three variants, with the base model still having 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, whereas the other two will pack 8GB of RAM and deliver 128GB or 256GB of flash memory. Every version of the OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip and sport an IP rating, feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a large 19:9 screen equipped with a notch, as per OnePlus’s previous teasers.

A dual-camera setup similar to the one found on the back of the OnePlus 5T is also rumored to be part of the package, coming with a 20-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel one, with the duo supporting portrait mode and a number of artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities. The OnePlus 6 will be officially announced tomorrow, with pre-orders opening immediately following its debut. The Android 8.1 Oreo-powered handset should become available for purchase on a global level within a week, as indicated by the Chinese firm‘s previously employed product practices.
