OPPO F7 Gets A New Cricket-Focused Variant In India

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has announced yet another variant of its mid-range smartphone OPPO F7 in the Indian market. With OPPO F7 Cricket Limited Edition, the company aims to bank from the immense popularity cricket enjoys in the Indian subcontinent and this launch also comes in time for the ongoing cricket extravaganza Indian Premier League (IPL). The handset itself will look similar to the Diamond Black edition launched recently, while the packaging and the box contents will slightly differ. With this Cricket Limited Edition device, OPPO will bundle a cricket-themed case bearing the signatures of Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma, who also endorse the F7 smartphone. It can be seen in the provided photo that the box will also contain some additional branding, while the phone can be seen featuring a new cricket-focused theme.

Apart from a handful of aforementioned changes, the OPPO F7 Cricket Limited Edition won’t be any different from its standard variant. Last month, the Chinese brand announced a variant of its mid-range Android smartphone that included a newly designed back in Diamond Black color, besides some upgraded internals. The variant came with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, making it a tad pricier than its standard variant at Rs. 26,990 ($411). The Cricket Limited Edition, however, includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, same as the base variant, and is priced at Rs. 21,990 ($327). OPPO will make it available across its exclusive showrooms and online exclusively via Flipkart starting May 14. The AI-powered OPPO F7 smartphone debuted in the South Asian market late March featuring a notched display and single rear-facing camera.

It boasts a 6.23-inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution in a 19:9 aspect ratio, to accommodate the display cut out. A MediaTek Helio P60 processor powers the device that comes preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0. The dual-SIM handset includes a 16-megapixel rear camera while a 25-megapixel sensor is placed on the front with HDR support. It retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3,400mAh battery is also a part of the package. Quite recently, OPPO was found influencing benchmark results on its OPPO F7 with the device firing up all processor cores at their full clock speed as soon as a benchmarking app is opened.
