As Canadian retailers are gearing up for the release of the LG G7 ThinQ, the Korean tech giant has announced an upcoming pre-order promotion for the device in the region, which will allow prospective buyers who act fast to purchase the flagship alongside a free 4K UHD smart TV. The pre-order promotion will commence later this week on May 18 and will last until the end of the month. The list of partner carriers and retailers who are eligible for this particular pre-order bonus is fairly large, including names such as Bell, Fido, Koodo, Rogers, SaskTel, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Best Buy, Walmart and more.
Officially announced earlier this month, the LG G7 ThinQ is the latest flagship phone to bear LG’s branding and the company’s first smartphone to feature a display notch at the top. The device has a 6.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 and a 19.5:9 image format, and employ’s Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chipset solution to date, i.e. the Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Software-wise the unit runs Android 8.0 Oreo covered by LG’s proprietary Android skin, and the software has been further enhanced by LG’s ThinQ AI platform. Evidently, the smartphone is meant to compete with rival flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9 series, and if the hardware and software are not enough then prospective buyers in Canada will soon have an additional pre-order incentive for choosing LG’s solution over others. The LG 4K smart TV offered by the OEM as a pre-order bonus has a 43-inch diagonal and a 4K resolution, though it’s unclear whether the TV model in question is one of the OEM’s newer creations powered by its ThinQ platform, which would allow it to easily connect to and communicate with the LG G7 ThinQ itself.
The pre-order promotion for the LG G7 ThinQ in Canada will start on May 18 and last until May 31, which makes sense given that the flagship is expected to become available for purchase later in June.
