Samsung’s Galaxy J6 smartphone leaked yet again earlier today, with half a dozen images of the upcoming entry-level Android offering being shared by SamMobile. The photographs that can be seen in the gallery below were apparently taken at a theater, showcasing another product equipped with an Infinity Display, which is how Samsung is now referring to all of its 18.5:9 screens. The panel in question is likely of the Super AMOLED variety, with the budget-friendly nature of the device pointing to a 720p resolution.
Recent reports indicate Samsung’s Galaxy J6 will feature a 5.6-inch screen and be powered by the company’s Exynos 7870, an octa-core system-on-chip clocked at up to 1.4GHz. Three variants of the device are said to be planned, offering between 2GB and 4GB of RAM, as well as a choice of 32GB or 64GB of flash memory expandable via a microSD card tray by at least 256GB. The South Korean tech giant is expected to launch both single-SIM and dual-SIM versions of the Galaxy J6, with the latter most likely offering a separate microSD card slot instead of a Hybrid SIM setup. The rear side of the Galaxy J6 reportedly features a 13-megapixel camera, whereas its top bezel houses an 8-megapixel sensor, both of which are supported by their own LED flash modules, suggesting Samsung will be advertising the handset to selfie enthusiasts.
The device is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.0 out of the box and possibly support the Bixby assistant, in addition to shipping with a 3,000mAh battery, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port. Recent reports are pointing to facial recognition being part of the Galaxy J6 package as well, though there’s still no word on when Samsung is planning to officially announced its next entry-level mobile offering. Not all members of the company’s 2018 Galaxy J series will feature a modernized design, with the upcoming Galaxy J3 being expected to look more in line with Samsung’s older smartphones.
