A Russia-based regulator Eurasian Economic Commission has recently certified two new tablets from the South Korean device manufacturer Samsung. These two tablets are identified by their model numbers SM-T835 and SM-T595, and the recent certification could mean that Samsung will launch the two devices in the country in the near future. It has been previously reported that the Samsung tablet with the model number SM-T835 will likely be marketed as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, and it is expected to succeed the Galaxy Tab S3, which was unveiled by the tech giant last year. However, there is currently little information available regarding the other tablet certified by the regulator, which has the model number SM-T595.
Earlier reports have already provided details regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. A listing on the website of the GFXBench benchmark indicates that the tablet with the model number SM-T835 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset from the semiconductor firm Qualcomm. This SoC is comprised of an octa-core Kryo 64-bit CPU, which runs at a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz, and the Adreno 540 GPU. Another interesting feature of the Galaxy Tab S4 is the tablet’s 10.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Previous flagship tablet offerings of the tech giant, starting from the original Galaxy Tab S, all have an aspect ratio of 4:3. The tablet will likely include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage, and it seems that there will likely be a variant of the tablet that includes a SIM card slot.
Recent reports have also stated that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will have a single rear camera that includes a 12-megapixel sensor The rear camera includes a flash module, although it seems that the sensor will not support autofocus. On the other hand, the front-facing selfie shooter will reportedly have an 8-megapixel sensor. Benchmarks also show that the tablet will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo pre-installed, although Samsung’s proprietary skin will likely run on top of Google’s operating system. The device has also been recently certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, and the certification indicated that the device will be able to connect to Wi-Fi networks running on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.
