UMIDIGI has just announced its Z2 and Z2 Pro flagship smartphones, which we’ve talked about a number of times thus far. The UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro handsets are clearly inspired by the Huawei P20 series of smartphones, though truth be said, the design of these two phones looks like a combination of the Huawei P20 and the iPhone X. It is worth noting that the company did not share full spec sheets of these two smartphones just yet, that info will be revealed on May 9, but both phones are now listed on UMIDIGI’s website, and there’s plenty of info to talk about.
The UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro sport the very same design, both devices are made out of metal and glass, they sport a display notch, and both will be available in Black, Twilight, and Phantom color variants. The back glass panel of the Twilight version actually resembles the one of the Twilight Huawei P20, it is clearly inspired by it. At the moment, UMIDIGI has shared only the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro’s spec sheet, as that is the more powerful model. The device features a 6.2-inch fullHD+ display with a 19:9 display aspect ratio, while it comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone is fueled by the Helio P60 64-bit octa-core processor, while it comes with four cameras, you will find 16 and 8-megapixel cameras on both the phone’s front and back sides. A fingerprint scanner is located on the back of the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro (and also Z2), while Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone. UMIDIGI also mentioned that the UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro are the first ‘global smartphones’ the company has announced, as they sport a total of 36 bands.
In addition to announcing both devices, the company has also released a new promo video for the UMIDIGI Z2 series, as UMIDIGI decided to compared it with the iPhone X, that video is embedded down below. UMIDIGI is also hosting a giveaway on its official website (link included down below), and if you decide to participate, you can win the UMIDIGI Z2, the company will give away five UMIDIGI Z2 units.
