Xiaomi has announced a special edition variant of its Mi MIX 2S handset, the so-called ‘Art Special Edition’ Mi MIX 2S. This handset has popped up on the company’s official website, and it comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which makes it identical to the most powerful variant of the regular Mi MIX 2S handset. This special edition Mi MIX 2S handset will become available for purchase (flash sale) on May 10 at 10AM (local time) according to the company’s official website, and the phone is priced at 4,299 Yuan ($675).
Now, it’s worth noting that this special edition Mi MIX 2S model came to life thanks to a collaboration between Xiaomi and the British Museum. As you can see in the provided images, this variant of the phone comes with different branding on the back, while its retail box is also noticeably different than the retail box of a regular model. In addition to that, you will also get some art-focused wallpapers pre-installed on the device, and a rather interesting case which is pictured down below. Other than that, this handset is identical to the regular Mi MIX 2S, its dimensions are the same, and the same can be said for build materials. The device is made out of metal and ceramic, while it sports really thin bezels, the thickest bezel lies below the phone’s display, the so-called ‘chin’. A vertically-aligned dual camera setup is included on the back of the phone, where you’ll find the device’s fingerprint scanner as well.
This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it features a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display. The Mi MIX 2S sports a 3,400mAh battery on the inside, while two 12-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the phone. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone, while you’ll find Xiaomi’s MIUI 9.5 skin on top of it. The Mi MIX 2S comes with two SIM card slots, while Bluetooth 5.0 is also included in the package, and the same can be said for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging tech. The Mi MIX 2S’ display sports rounded corners, and you will not be able to expand this phone’s storage, no matter what variant of the phone you get.
