The Xiaomi S2 hands-on images surfaced a couple of days ago, along with some video content, and it seems like those pictures and video were taken in Prague, at least according to some new info that just popped up. The device is actually already available to check out in Prague, in one of Xiaomi’s Mi Stores, though it doesn’t seem to be available just yet. Now, in addition to that, the phone’s price tag has just surfaced as well.
According to a leaked image, which you can check out down below, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 will cost 3,999 VND ($172) in Vietnam. The White variant of the phone is pictured in the provided image, along with the phone’s price tag, at least its front side is white, as it’s possible that this is also a Rose Gold model which comes with a white-colored front side. In any case, this image confirms leaks previous leaks, so we pretty much know what to expect out of the Redmi S2 when the design is concerned. The phone will be made out of metal, it will sport a dual camera setup on the back, along with a fingerprint scanner. A 3.5mm headphone jack will not be included in the package, while the phone will include bottom-firing loudspeakers. The device’s bezels won’t be thick, but they’re not exactly too thin either, though we can’t expect too much considering the phone’s price tag.
This handset already got certified by both TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) and the 3C authority, also in China. The phone will sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ display, 2GB, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on what variant you opt to get, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel the device. A 3,000mAh battery will also be included in the package, while Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin. The phone will sport 12 and 5-megapixel cameras on the back, while a single 16-megapixel camera will be included on its front side if rumors are to be believed, as TENAA’s listing shared completely different info which is probably not accurate as the phone sports two cameras on the back. Xiaomi had teased the arrival of this smartphone yesterday, which probably means that it will be announced in the near future. The device will probably be announced in China first, but other markets will follow, markets like Prague, for example.
