Xiaomi Will Launch Multiple Products In Shenzen Soon: CEO

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, has just confirmed that the company plans to launch several products during its upcoming press event in Shenzen. Xiaomi had teased its upcoming event in Shenzen a couple of days ago, and rumors are claiming that the Mi 7 (or Mi 8 according to some info), Mi Band 3 and the 8th anniversary Xiaomi handset will launch during that event. Well, Xiaomi’s CEO has just added some more fuel to that fire, by confirming that we will, in fact, see more than one device launched during the event.

Lei Jun has shared this info by quoting Kevin Wang’s Weibo (Chinese social network) post. In his post, Mr. Wang claimed that we’ll see more than one device launched, and for those of you who do not know, Kevin Wang is actually a China-based industry analyst who has a rather good track record. Now, this upcoming press conference is referred to as Xiaomi’s 2018 Annual Product Launch by the company, which also suggests that we’ll see the Mi 7 launched during it, as it seems this is the company’s most important press conference of the year, or at least one of the most important ones. Xiaomi still did not announce when will this press conference take place, but more than one source claimed that it will take place before the end of this month, as the Mi 7 pre-registrations are said to begin on May 27, at least according to one China Mobile store in China, who jumped the gun by releasing such info.

Now, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, and it is rumored to ship with a display notch. The device will feature wireless charging, and it will sport a glass back. The device is expected to sport two cameras on its back, and it is still unknown if its fingerprint scanner will be included on the back, or will Xiaomi opt to include an in-display fingerprint scanner in this handset. The Mi Band 3 will become the company’s third big iteration of its fitness tracker, though interestingly enough, its fourth fitness tracker, as the Mi Band 1S was released soon after the original Mi Band. Xiaomi already teased the arrival of the Mi Band 3, so it’s safe to say that it will make an appearance at this event. The company’s 8th anniversary phone that surfaced in a couple of rumors is still a complete mystery, though.
