The rumored Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will supposedly feature an iris scanner and support for the DeX Pad accessory, according to a new leak from China. The image seen below is the latest among a series of leaks and rumors surrounding the upcoming fourth-generation Galaxy Tab S. While Samsung has yet to confirm any of those rumors, previous reports seem to indicate that the next flagship tablet from the South Korean tech giant is close to its official launch. For instance, a Samsung Galaxy tablet with the model number SM-T835, which is believed to be referring to the Galaxy Tab S4, was certified by Bluetooth SIG last month, a strong indication that a successor to the Galaxy Tab S3 is indeed in the works.
While the Bluetooth certification did not reveal any significant details about the tablet’s hardware components, the document indicates that the device will feature Bluetooth 5.0 support, which in turn suggests that the tablet will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, the first silicon from the company to boast that particular feature. The same type of processor was also spotted in an earlier benchmark powering a Samsung-built tablet bearing the model number SM-T835.
The specs mentioned in the benchmark listing indicate that the successor to the Galaxy Tab S3 will come with a number of improvements across the board and sport a 10.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 8:5. The tablet was also certified as having 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash storage, which is presumably expandable via a microSD card. Its primary camera is supposedly using a 12-megapixel sensor with a flash unit, while the front-facing module uses an 8-megapixel sensor. Most recently, the Galaxy Tab S4 was spotted in the database of an HTML5 benchmark running Android 8.1 Oreo.
