Samsung on Wednesday confirmed that the Galaxy Note 9 will be officially announced on August 9, having done so via a teaser that showed a yellow gold S Pen and possibly some other parts of the upcoming device featuring the same color. While it’s still unclear whether the company will truly be introducing such an aggressive hue with its next high-end lineup of Android flagships, PhoneArena conjured a concept render of how the Galaxy Note 9 could look like if that would to happen. The image that can be seen above shows a rough concept of the upcoming phablet based on recent rumors and leaks which suggested Samsung will be sticking with the dual-camera arrangement from the Galaxy Note 8 but reposition the handset’s fingerprint reader below the two sensors, much like it did on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus.
Samsung’s iconic Midnight Black finish is still expected to be the default color variant of the Galaxy Note 9 and the popularity of its Coral Blue hue may also see it make a return with the next high-end smartphone from the company. One industry insider recently claimed the Galaxy Note 9 will also be available in “Teddy Brown,” thus being the first Galaxy-branded flagship to be offered in a shade of brown since Galaxy S4 series debuted in 2013. Not all color variants of the Android device are likely to be sold on a worldwide level as Samsung often targets certain finishes at specific countries based on its market research.
The Galaxy Note 9 should be an evolutionary step forward from its predecessor, much like the Galaxy S9 line refined the Galaxy S8 formula earlier this year without resorting to radical changes. The handset is expected to become available for pre-orders immediately following its announcement and begin retailing on a global level by late August. The base model of the Galaxy Note 9 should offer 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space, much like the previous addition to Samsung‘s Android family did.
