Huawei Planning To Ship At Least 200 Million Phones In 2018

Huawei is planning to ship out at least 200 million smartphones in 2018. Huawei, who is currently the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, managed to sell 153 million smartphones in 2017, well, the company is planning to increase that by about 25 percent in 2018. This information comes from the company’s CEO, Yu Chengdong, who announced the company’s plans during a recent Honor Play event in China.

Based on the company’s current trajectory, the company’s CEO believes that such a feat is achievable. Huawei managed to grow 51-fold in only seven years, in a span from 2010 and 2017, so an increase in sales of 25 percent compared to last year does seem like something Huawei may be able to pull off. Huawei’s sales numbers have been growing year after year, and the company actually managed to overthrow Apple at one point last year, and briefly become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Huawei is actually planning to trump Apple in the near future again, and has set its sights on Samsung already. The company may be the third-largest smartphone OEM in the world, but it’s also the number one smartphone OEM in the largest smartphone market in the world, Huawei’s homeland, China. Huawei is also doing fairly well in India thanks to its Honor sub-brand.

Speaking of Honor, Honor smartphones have managed to attract quite a few people over in India and Europe, and are selling extremely well for the company, in addition to Huawei’s very own budget and flagship offerings, of course. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro flagships have managed to attract quite a few people as well, not to mention the company’s P20 Lite mid-ranger, which is in high-demand in certain parts of Europe. The Honor 10 is Honor’s flagship, and even though it’s inferior to the Huawei P20, it’s close to Huawei’s flagship, while it costs only a fraction of its price, which is why it managed to create such interest amongst consumers. It remains to be seen what will happen by the end of 2018, but Huawei is setting its sights high.
