Samsung Galaxy A6 Launching In The UK This Summer

The South Korean device maker Samsung has recently announced that the Samsung Galaxy A6 will be launched in the United Kingdom this summer. The Galaxy A6 was launched last May alongside the larger Galaxy A6 Plus, and the two devices are already available in a number of markets in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The smartphone manufacturer further stated that its mid-range handset offering will be sold by selected partner retailers in the UK, and interested consumers in the country may choose among the three available color options of the device, which include black, gold, and lavender. Samsung did not provide any information regarding the pricing of the Galaxy A6 in the UK, although previous reports mention that in Europe, the device ships with a price tag of €309.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 is powered by the Exynos 7870 chipset, which is comprised of an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU running at a maximum clock speed of 1.6GHz. The device contains either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and it is available in hardware variants that include 32GB or 64GB of internal flash storage. The internal storage of the handset can be expanded using a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256GB. The smartphone sports a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1480 by 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The device has a single rear camera setup, which is equipped with one 16-megapixel sensor with autofocus and an aperture size of f/1.7, while the front-facing camera has a 16-megapixel module with an aperture size of f/1.9. To keep its lights on, the handset contains a 3,000mAh battery and the smartphone also supports Near Field Communication, which means that people can use this device to pay for the merchandise they have purchased using Samsung Pay.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 ships with Android 8.0 Oreo pre-installed, although the device maker’s proprietary skin runs on top of Google’s operating system. Samsung’s proprietary software adds features that could potentially be useful to the consumer. These include Samsung’s virtual assistant Bixby and a functionality dubbed as the App Pair, which allows users to choose two applications that will open simultaneously in a split-screen view. The Galaxy A6 also includes a face recognition feature and a fingerprint scanner at the back of the handset to unlock the device.
