OnePlus has just released a new update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T in form of OxygenOS 5.0.4. The OnePlus 3 and 3T were introduced back in 2016, but plenty of users are still rocking one of those two smartphones, and OnePlus is sticking to its word and releasing new updates for the two phones. Now, this is not a huge update, or anything of the sort, but it does bring some fixes to the two phones.
In the official changelog, OnePlus listed that this update brings Android security patch for July 2018. In addition to that, OnePlus has also improved image quality for the front camera, reveals the changelog, while the fixed manual ISO setting of 3rd party camera apps has also been fixed in the update. On top of all that, the company also fixed parallel WhatsApp crash issue, while the front camera zoom-in issues for Snapchat has also been fixed here. That’s pretty much it as far as the official changelog is concerned, though it’s possible some additional optimizations / bug fixes are included in the update as well. It’s also worth noting that this is a staged update, as is every other update for OnePlus’ smartphones, which means that the update may not be available to everyone this very moment, but it will be soon if it’s not already. You can force this update to roll out to your phone immediately by utilizing a VPN app from the Play Store, simply select ‘Canada’ as your country of choice.
The OnePlus 3 and 3T are both made out of metal, and they are completely identical in terms of the design. The OnePlus 3T does come with more powerful internals, though, it has a more powerful SoC, larger battery, and so on. Both devices feature 5.5-inch fullHD displays, and both come with 6GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel camera on the back. The OnePlus 3 features 64GB of RAM, while the 3T comes with either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The Snapdragon 820 fuels the OnePlus 3, while the Snapdragon 821 comes included inside of the OnePlus 3T.
