Samsung Kids Now Caters To Children Up To 12 Years Old

Samsung Kids has recently received an update that increases the number of languages it supports and adds a number of games that cater to children up to 12 years old. Samsung Kids is a subscription-based service of the South Korean tech giant, which aims to deliver educational content to young children. The latest version of the Samsung Kids app now supports eight languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Before the application was updated, Samsung Kids only support one language, which is English.

Moreover, Samsung Kids now offers content to children between ages 9 to 12, which effectively expands the age range supported by the service from 3 to 8 years of age to 3 to 12 years of age. Among the additional content that the subscription content now offers include educational games like Diffusion, Dr. Guts, Faktr, Lightsmith, and Sim Cell. Diffusion is a game that aims to teach children about fractions using puzzles, while Dr. Guts allows children to perform virtual experiments on different organs of the body, which should result in a better understanding of the functions of the different body parts. Faktr aims to improve the addition and division skills of children by encouraging them to use these skills in factoring. Like Diffusion, Lightsmith and Sim Cell also utilizes puzzles to help students learn more about the different characteristics of light and the various processes that occur within the cell respectively. These five games add to the list of reading, math, and science activities that Samsung Kids already offer to children.

The Samsung Kids app comes pre-installed in some of the tablet offerings of the South Korean device maker, although users with compatible Samsung devices can also download the application from Galaxy Apps or the Google Play Store. Aside from educational games, the service’s official website notes that it also offers a library of child-friendly books and videos. Moreover, the service also allows parents to monitor how much time their children have spent on the app, view which subjects were studied, and allocate time for a specific activity. Subscribers of Samsung Kids may now update their apps through the Google Play Store, while interested consumers may subscribe to the service for $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
