A video depicting what’s said to be Google’s Pixel 3 XL being unboxed leaked online earlier today, showing a white variant of a device that’s largely in line with previous supposed sightings of the upcoming Android flagship. While the handset itself isn’t the star of the video, the latest leak gives more credence to recent reports about Google opting for a 19:9 panel with a display notch, as well as a single rear camera. A circular fingerprint sensor can also be seen as being part of the package, with the box including a pair of wired headphones and a power adapter. While the Pixel 3 smartphone lineup is expected to debut alongside a new generation of the wireless Pixel Buds, the latter gadget was already widely expected to be sold separately.
A USB Type-C cable is also included inside the box, together with a USB-C adapter for a 3.5mm audio jack and another one for a female USB Type-B connector, as revealed by the video seen below. It’s presently unclear whether all Pixel 3 accessories will be white or if they’re meant to match the color of the device itself, with the handset seen here being the only supposed model of the upcoming flagship that leaked alongside its retail packaging so far. This particular device is likely a prototype seeing how the Pixel 3 series isn’t expected to be announced prior to early October and go on sale some three weeks thereafter. Google is rumored to be holding its annual hardware event on October 4 for the third year in a row and should also use the happening as an opportunity to introduce the Pixelbook 2 and its first-ever smartwatches launched as part of the Pixel brand, according to previous reports.
While the back panels of the Pixel 3 handsets are said to have a single camera, the display notch of the larger Pixel 3 XL is expected to feature a dual-camera setup, though it’s still unclear whether the smaller device will follow suit seeing how it isn’t expected to debut with a screen cutout. The 3.5mm headphone jack won’t be making a return with the upcoming series of devices that should become one of the first smartphones to run Android 9 Pie out of the box.
