Samsung had introduced the Galaxy Note 9 yesterday in New York, and for those who live in Canada, well, here’s more info about the device. Samsung had introduced only one Galaxy Note 9, but there are some differences from market to market when it comes to specs, as the design is the same for all variants. In this article, we’ll also talk about availability of the Galaxy Note 9 in Canada, for those of you who are interested.
Having said that, it’s worth noting that the phone is made out of metal and glass, and that it sports two cameras on the back, along with a fingerprint scanner, and a heart rate sensor. The phone’s display is curved, while the device sports really thin bezels, and comes with an all-new S Pen stylus which now offers Bluetooth connectivity. If you’d like to know more about its design, check out our announcement article. That being said, the Canadian variant of the Galaxy Note 9 is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, while it comes in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, with 128GB and 512GB of expandable storage, respectively. The phone sports a 6.4-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, which is HDR10 compliant, while two 12-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the device. Both of those cameras sport OIS, its main camera comes with a variable aperture (f/1.5-2.4), while the other one sports an f/2.4 aperture. An 8-megapixel camera (f/1.7) is included on the front side of the Galaxy Note 9.
A 4,000mAh battery is included in the package, while the Galaxy Note 9 comes with a single nano SIM card slot. IP68 certification for water and dust resistance is also included here, and so is Bluetooth 5.0. The phone comes in Ocean Blue and Midnight Black color variants to Canada, while the Lavender Purple is exclusive to the US, at least for the time being. The Galaxy Note 9 can be pre-ordered in Canada starting to today from all the major carriers in the country, including Bell, Telus, and Rogers… while other carriers offer it as well, including Videotron, Fido, Freedom Mobile, SaskTel, and Eastlink. If you pre-order the device before it officially becomes available for purchase, you will get a free pair of Samsung’s Gear IconX fully wireless earphones. The 128GB variant of the Galaxy Note 9 is priced at $1,299.99 CAD, while the 512GB model costs $1,629.99 CAD. It’s worth noting that you can get a payment plan with carriers in Canada, so you can get the device for as low as $549.99 on a two-year plan from Bell, for example.
