Huawei has started rolling out GPU Turbo update to the Huawei P20 Pro, and presumably the P20 as well. GPU Turbo was unveiled back in June, and it basically brings GPU acceleration to the table. The company claims that GPU Turbo enables smartphones which utilize it to consume less battery while playing graphics-intensive games. The company says that GPU Turbo manages to increase graphics processing efficiency by 60-percent, and reduce power consumption by 30-percent, which are strong claims by Huawei.
Now, if you take a look at the image provided down below, you will be able to see a screenshot containing a changelog of this new update which is landing on the P20 Pro. We’re still not 100 percent sure that the P20 is getting the same update, but chances are that it is. GPU Turbo is the most important addition when it comes to this new update, but it’s not the only one, as the company has also added the Game Suite app to the P20 Pro, which will enable users uninterrupted gaming, says the company. Android security patch for July is also included in this update, and that’s pretty much it as far as additions are concerned. Bug fixes and general optimizations are not listed by Huawei, but the company has quite probably ironed out some smaller stuff as well, and improved the performance of the device, as is the case with almost every update. This update comes with a CLT-L29 8.1.0.152(C432) tag, and it weighs 670MB, in case you’re wondering.
The Huawei P20 Pro was introduced back in February, along with the P20, and the device is still Huawei’s flagship. The company is expected to announce its Mate 20-series smartphones in the near future, but until then, the P20 Pro is the most powerful offering by Huawei. The device is fueled by the Kirin 970, while it comes with three cameras on the back, which are covered by Leica’s lenses. If you’d like to know more about the device, check out our full review.
