LG has just announced two new smartphones, the LG G7 One and G7 Fit. The LG G7 One is actually an Android One smartphone, and we’ll kick things off by talking about that phone in particular. The LG G7 One does sport a display notch on the top of its display, while the phone also has a ‘chin’ below the display. The device’s power / lock key is located on the right, while its volume up and volume down buttons are on the left, along with a dedicated Google Assistant button. This phone offers two cameras on its back, where its fingerprint scanner is located as well.
The LG G7 One is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Qualcomm’s flagship processor for last year. The device features a 6.1-inch 3120 x 1440 FullVision display, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone, and as this phone is a part of Google’s Android One project, it comes with stock Android, without LG’s skin on it. 16-megapixel (f/1.6 aperture, 71-degree wide-angle lens) and 8-megapixel (80-degree wide-angle lens, f/1.9 aperture) cameras are included on the back of the device, while a single 8-megapixel camera (80-degree wide-angle lens, f/1.9 aperture) sits on the front side of this phone. A 3,000mAh battery is included in the package as well, while it supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included on the phone as well, as is a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC. The phone is IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certified, while it measures 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9mm, and weighs 156 grams.
The other device that LG announced is the LG G7 Fit, and that phone is inferior to the LG G7 One. The LG G7 Fit is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, while it comes with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable storage. A 6.1-inch 3120 x 1440 display is also included in the package, as is Android 8.1 Oreo with LG’s UX on top of it. A 16-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, 76-degree wide-angle lens) sits on the back of the phone, while an 8-megapixel (80-degree wide-angle lens, f/1.9 aperture) camera is included on the phone’s front side. This handset is both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G certified, while it comes with the same 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC as the LG G7 One. A 3,000mAh battery is included in this phone, and it supports Quick Charge 3.0, while the phone measures 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9mm, and weighs 160 grams. The LG G7 Fit resembles the LG G7 One in terms of the design quite a bit, but it comes with a single camera on the back, and no dedicated Google Assistant button.
The LG G7 One comes in New Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue color variants, while the LG G7 Fit comes in New Platinum Gray and New Aurora Black color variants. Price points and availability details have not been announced by LG, but both devices will make an appearance at IFA in Berlin this week, so we’ll get more info soon.
