Xiaomi has just announced a new variant of its Mi Pad 4 tablet, the Mi Pad 4 Plus. The regular Mi Pad 4 was announced back in June, and the ‘Plus’ model is actually larger than the original Mi Pad 4, as it comes with a 10.1-inch display, while the original one sports an 8-inch panel. This variant of the tablet also comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, which was not the case with the Mi Pad 4, but the general design of the tablet remains unchanged.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus is made out of metal, you will find Xiaomi’s logo on the back of this device, and a single camera is also located back there. All the physical keys are included on the right-hand side of this tablet, while the device’s bezels aren’t that thick at all. The Mi Pad 4 Plus’ display sports rounded corners, and you will find a Type-C USB port and a loudspeaker on the bottom of this device. Now, in terms of specs, this device is quite similar to the regular Mi Pad 4, but there are some differences. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus sports a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display with a 16:10 display aspect ratio. This device is fueled by the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor, while it comes with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card).
The Mi Pad 4 Plus comes with an 8,620mAh battery, which is not removable, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (f/2.0 aperture, OV13855 sensor). The device supports face scanning, and it comes with Android 8.1 Oreo, and Xiaomi’s MIUI skin on top of it, of course. A 5-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture, Samsung’s S5K5E8 sensor) sits on the front side of this tablet, while the device comes with Bluetooth 5, and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The Mi Pad 4 Plus measures 245.6 x 149.08 x 7.99mm, while it weighs 485 grams. The Mi Pad 4 Plus comes in Black and Gold color variants, while its two variants are priced at 1,899 Yuan ($275) and 2,099 Yuan ($304). The Mi Pad 4 Plus will become available for purchase in China on August 16, via the company’s official website, and it remains to be seen if it will become available in other countries as well, though there’s a good chance Xiaomi has big international plans for this tablet.
